Cassandra Kay Beckles

Cassandra Key Beckles age 65 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was born December 1, 1955 in Chicago IL to Alfred and Helen Dailey. She lived in Great Lakes, IL and Norfolk VA with her navy father before moving to Kansas City and joining and attending Faith Lutheran Church where they were active members. Cassandra graduated from Washington High in KC. Cassandra (a.k.a Casey) graduated from Smith College in Northampton MA. where she obtained her B.A. degree in Economics while attending Smith College, she advanced her studies in Economics at the University of West Indies in Kingston Jamaica. Also, while at Smith she met the love of her life and future husband, Edward Beckles. Cassandra and Edward were married on August 4, 1979 at Faith Lutheran Church in Kansas City Kansas, then settled in New Jersey. Cassandra joined American Express Corporation in the Corporate Strategic Planning Group as an economist. She left American Express to farther her education and attend Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained her MBA in Marketing. She was also the recipient of the COGME Minority Fellow Award. After she graduated from Wharton, she operated successful businesses in international trade, real estate, and the restaurant industry. Cassandra was a loving and compassionate person whose greatest joy was being a wife to Ed and mother to Matthew, age 30 and Kendall age 25. The Beckles Family are members of Christ Church in New Brunswick New Jersey, where Matthew and Kendell were confirmed. Cassandra always inspired her children to achieve everything to the best of their abilities. Matthew graduated from Rutgers. Kendall attended Spelman. Cassandra loved her family, girlfriends (The Smith Girls, The Wharton Crew, The North Carolina Girls) She loved art, traveling, talking about world events, cooking, sailing, flying planes and caring for animals. Most importantly she loved life. She is preceded in death by her mother (Helen), her father (Alfred). Cassandra is survived by Husband Edward and children Matthew, Conyers, GA and Kendell, NYC., siblings, Sheryl Renne’ Dailey (Tony)Boston MA, Randy S Carter Sr, Winter Park FL. Tonya English (Charles) Wichita Falls, TX. She also has a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
