Kevin Bruce Griffin of Trenton, New Jersey died April 20, 2023. Services were held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at The Cathedral International, 277 Madison Avenue, Perth Amboy. Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., officiated. Kevin Bruce Griffin Aka known as “Old Dude” was born on February 14, 1957, in East Orange New Jersey. He departed this life on April 20, 2023, at Capital Health (Helene Fuld) hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. Bruce was educated in the East Orange and Scotch Plains Public School system and graduated from Scotch Plains High School. Bruce moved to the Trenton area in 1980 and was employed and retired from the City of Trenton Water Works. He also was employed by New Jersey Transit and Stouts Charter Services. Bruce was a loving husband to his wife of 36 years. He loves hosting family gatherings and grilling in the summer month. Those who knew Bruce knew that he could fix mostly anything from cars repairs to home repairs. His kids called him the Black McGyver because he would use duct tape and crazy glue to repair urgent problems as a quick fix. He was also known as a neighborhood dad; many of his children’s friends would ask him for advice on personal matters. He coached West End Little League of Trenton for several years. He taught many kids in the neighborhood how to drive and helped them find their first car. Some of the things he liked to do with his family were going to the beach and going to music and food festivals. Bruce loved riding his motorcycle, he was a lifer with more than 20+ years with Cycle Kings City of Trenton, Mother chapter. He held the office on National Road Captain and traveled with the Cycle Kings throughout the country. Left to cherish his memory is the love of life, his wife, Yvette Rue-Griffin of 36 years together for 44 years; first born, his daughter, Courtney Griffin; a son, Kevin Kyle Griffin; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Griffin and Mia Griffin; siblings, Karen Griffin, Lana Hollman( Artie), Louis Fred Griffin, Jamie Griffin, Robert Jerry Griffin, and Louis Hardy; special friends; Cycle Kings Brothers; Monty” Monk” Pettaway, Gilbert “Cruiser” Bell, Alvin “Catt Man” Cattledge and Tony Smith along with a host of family and friends.
