Linda E Hinton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

"In Loving Memory" This isn’t a standard obituary, as Linda was never one to be cookie cutter. Born in New Brunswick on September 8th, 1947, her Father, Felix, would always say she acted like the son he never had (she went on to win cutest baby in an Atlantic City competition.) She was adventurous as a child, famously told of having to be rescued off of what is now the New Jersey Turnpike by her house in Milltown, because she had to rescue her tricycle. One to never hold her tongue, she would yell insults at the boys her Dad coached in Little League because she was better than them! She just didn’t understand why girls couldn’t play too. She was ahead of her time. Milltown didn’t have a middle school or high school, so she attended the New Brunswick school system. This is where her love of the culture started. She developed her own style, befriending students who would become lifelong friends, and developing relationships that were taboo at the time. She forged her own path. She held jobs at the Soldier’s Home in Edison, NJ and she began her career at NJ Bell in New Brunswick, NJ. She met her husband of more than 30+ years, Bryan, when her sister Sally married his brother, Mike. Bryan was in his suit from JA-PAN (as he said), and she couldn’t resist. Linda would only smile. Together they had three children, as Linda continued to grow in her career as a Supervisor of Customer Service at Yellow Pages. Linda loved to cook, and she thoroughly loved to bake. Her culinary skills were passed down from her Mother-in-Law, and she over the years perfected many dishes like her famous lasagna and stuffed shells. However, she is best known for her lemon meringue pie and cheesecake from scratch, as well as her family famous Strawberry Shortcake. Linda was fierce to the very end. She was hilarious. Quick-witted, and would give you a verbal lashing that you didn’t realize until you thought about it carefully. She had the mouth of a sailor, and delivered shocking replies to people who did not know her. If you ever had the pleasure of talking with her, cherish that memory, she may not have known who you were but you’d never know. That was Linda. She loved her family as a Mother would, but she was also a dedicated friend to her children. Linda would truly give her last, unless it didn’t interfere with her scratch-offs! Linda was predeceased by her parents, Felix A. and Helen (Reilly) Malanowski, her husband Bryan Hinton, and her sister Sally A. Drew. She leaves to keep her memory alive, sons Jake, Dru, Brian, and daughter Danyelle, along with her 12 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and associates.
