Paulette Debra Moore

Paulette Moore was born on April 8, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Gerard and Bella Moore. She departed this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick after a 2-year battle with cancer. Paulie or Nana Paulette, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, attended New Brunswick Public Schools. She worked as a caregiver to many children in the family and in the neighborhood where she resided on Joyce Kilmer Avenue for much of her life. She was known to be a big sister to many. Paulette didn’t travel much but rather experienced life through watching television, one of her favorite pastimes. You could always find her watching a good Syfy movie or one of the classics like Cooley High or Warriors. Her second favorite pastime was playing any kind of recreational game: from solo activities like fill-in puzzles and various types of Solitaire to group games like Spades, Palace, UNO or Monopoly and everything in between. You would always find her at the table trash-talking and playfully teasing her opponents. She was a fierce competitor. So, even when she lost, in her mind, she was still the winner and would end the game with a playful anecdote like “I wanted you to win one so you wouldn’t feel bad.” In other words, she’d “let” others win. Those were fun times. Paulette is predeceased by her sister Yolanda Baker. Left to cherish her memory are 3 daughters, Donise (Koya) Olubamowo of Ewing, NJ; Danielle Moore of New Brunswick, NJ; and Lillian Moore of New Brunswick, NJ; three sisters, Joann Moore of Somerset, NJ; Donna Moore of Englewood, NJ; and Sabryna Washington of Harrisburg, PA; three brothers, Jeffrey (Pamela) Hueston of New Brunswick, NJ; Todd (Karen) Moore of North Brunswick, NJ; and Eddie Moore of Raritan, NJ; 6 grandchildren, Kyleen Moore, Tahjay Moore, Similolu Olubamowo, Jared Moore, Folusade Olubamowo, and Praise Smith-Moore; one great-grandson, AJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service were held Friday, April 12, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Service, 201 Sandford Street, New Brunswick, NJ.
