Sharon Lynn Allen

Sharon Lynn Livingston-Allen was born into this world on September 27, 1968 to Pastor Rita Mettle and Sylvester Allen Livingston, Sr. in Trenton, New Jersey. She passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024 in Hopewell, New Jersey, and she was welcomed home. She was a graduate of Trenton Central High School, Class of 1986 and furthered her education by obtaining her Associates of Applied Science degree in Healthcare at Mercer County Community College. Sharon was currently attending Thomas Edison University studying for her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She began her working career in 1987 as a Data Entry/Administrative Assistant for the State of New Jersey Mercer County Probation Department. Sharon later transferred to work at Trenton Water Works in the Coding/Meter Department. She continued her employment as an Inspection Agent for the Motor Vehicle Commission in Menlo Park/Edison, NJ. Lastly, she worked at the Mary Roebling Building in the Banking/Insurance Department. She was a faithful member at Miracle Deliverance Church. She loved beating her tambourine, shouting and praising God. In her leisure time, Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved spending every summer with her grandchildren. “She was a great and an amazing grandma”, is what Khay’Ri would often say. She loved cooking for her family. Brian and her would share Sunday dinners often. She was learning how to create Hibachi food and mastered it according to her daughter, Antonia. She also began to perfect African cuisine. She was an avid sports fan and rooted for her favorite teams, the Lakers and the 49ers. Because Pop, Antonia and Jimmy loved the Eagles, she would root for them, too. She will be remembered for always greeting you with a smiling embrace and for a giving spirit. Predeceased by her husband James Keith Allen, Sr. (Pop); father Sylvester Allen Livingston, Sr.; great grandmother Pastor Annie Loman; grandmother Mother Sarah Livingston; grandfathers Elder Daniel Livingston, Sr. and James (Deek) Johnson; and her special cousins Marie Antoinette Livingston and Gerald Johnson. Sharon’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her children, Deacon Brian Livingston, Terrance Livingston (Miranda), Antonia Livingston, and James Keith Allen, Jr., her grandmother Elder Miriam Johnson, her mother Pastor Rita Mettle, her siblings Sylvester Allen Livingston, Jr., Lisa Rasaw (Phil), Iris Bethel (Antoiane), James Livingston, and Shiloh Livingston, her grandchildren Joey Martinez, Mark Fleming, Khay’Ri Green, Amaya Livingston, Mariah Livingston, Syn’Cere Bodiford and Avianna Allen, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Revelation 21:3-4 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
