So Young Bethea-Bullock

So Young Bethea-Bullock was born on February 4, 1974, to the late Sgt. Charles E. Bethea and Il Sun Pak Griffith in Fort Gordon, GA. She departed this life on October 16, 2021, at the Samaritan Center at Vorhees Township, NJ. So Young grew up in Trenton, NJ attending St. Joachim Elementary School and later went on to continue her high school education, graduating from Stuart County Day School in Princeton, NJ. Following high school, So Young pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Trenton State College, now known as the College of NJ. “Youngi”, as she was affectionately called, was employed by Ocwen Financial/PHH Mortgage Company where she was a loan officer and was also an alumni of La Debu Debutante class of ’92. Youngi relocated to Princeton, NJ, where she made a home for her family. She loved nothing more than to spend time with family and friends. She always greeted you with a big smile, a hug, and a kiss, especially for her “babies”. Youngi loved her mother and sons Toisim, Poodah and Waynie immensely and would do anything she could to support their goals and dreams. She embraced her very large family and was extremely proud of her “cousins”. She was a member of Victory Tabernacle and later became a member of the New Holy Cross Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop W. J. Jones where she served in the V.P.C.W. choir, the combined choirs, and the praise and worship team. All who knew Youngi, knew she loved to sing whenever she had a chance. She enjoyed singing often with family and friends. So Young was preceded in death by her father Sgt. Charles E. Bethea, her paternal grandparents Robert Bethea, Sr. and Hannah Jones Bethea, two uncles Robert Bethea, Jr. and Wayne E. Bethea, Sr. and two aunts Evangelist Gwendolyn K. Warren and Evangelist Marvis E. Jennett. Youngi’s memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her mother, Il Sun Pak Griffith, three sons Taisim Jabre Bullock, Markeise E. Bullock, Jr. and Torynz Wayne Bethea-Bullock, her grandparents Yongchun Pak and Paktuk Pak, three aunts Roseanne Hamilton, Yongcha Pak, Ester Pak, two uncles Sung Pak, Chon S. Pak, a close cousin Sophie M. Boyd, and a host of other family and friends.
