Herbert Reed, Jr., 91, of Fair Haven, NJ, died March 9, 2020 at Care One @ King James Nursing Home, Atlantic Highlands. Born in Long Branch, NJ. A retired Teacher for Red Bank Regional High School. A member of Quinn Chapel AME, Atlantic Highlands, NJ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Predeceased by parents, Herbert, Sr. and Emily, wife, Yvonne Matthews-Reed, 2 children, Kevin H. Reed and Sharon Reed LeComte, and 2 brothers, Alfonso and Kenneth. Surviving are a step-daughter, Melanie Woods and 3 siblings, Wyndham A., Gretchen and Maynard; and a host of relatives and friends. Services are private. To Our Many Well-Wishers Please be aware that the governmental regulations regarding COVID 19 in our country at this time impacted the Going Home Celebration of the Life of Herbert Reed, Jr, our Brother. the governmental. Regulations mandated and limited this Celebration to include immediate Family and the Officials of the service. It saddens the Family that Herbert’s many parishioners, friends, students and well-wishers cannot share in His Celebration at this time.
