Life Story Larry Gardenhire of East Windsor son of Louise Gardenhire and the late Major Glenn was born in Queens, NY November 25, 1951. He departed this life, on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Penn Medicine Hospital, Plainsboro, NJ with his wife by his side. Larry graduated from Morris High School, Bronx NY. He attended Long Island University majoring in Computer Science and received a B.S. from the University of Phoenix in Communications. Larry and Phyllis were joined in Holy Matrimony on December 1, 2000. They shared almost twenty years together in a loving marriage. Larry enjoyed fishing, reading, and talking about politics and the bible with family and friends. He loved the Lord and had his own special walk with God. Larry joined Emmanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church in 2003. Larry was employed by the Port Authority of New York City in the twin tower building number one. On September 11, 2001, God was gracious and allowed Larry to survive the World Trade Center attacks without harm. He was preceded in death by his father, Major Glenn and his sister Natalia Charisse Gardenhire two brothers Darryl Eric and Arthur “Sonny” Lee Gardenhire. Larry is survived by his wife Phyllis, East Windsor NJ. His mother Louise Ellis, Bronx, NY, his daughter Enetha Monique Kelly of Peekskill, NY, stepdaughter Kami Ives (Rev. Abdu Ives) East Windsor, NJ. He also leave to mourn his passing three siblings Ida Yvonne Gardenhire, Bronx, NY, Tammy Louise Holmes, (Clellan “Mickey” Holmes) Dayton, Ohio, Kevin Gardenhire (Kayon) Bronx, NY, sister- in- law Ramona Gardenhire (Artie) Worcester, MA, grandchildren Briana Kelly, Aaron Kelly Jr., Matthew Kelly, Ava Ives, and Abdu Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Larry’s friendly smile and warm personality endeared him to all who knew him. We mourn his passing, but we continue to trust that God knows best.
