William Mills

William Louis Mills, II was born in Kansas City, Kansas on February 12, 1972. He grew up in Nashville, Tennessee where he joined the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Enoch Jones. In 1990, he graduated from Whites Creek High School. William attended Hampton University where he received a Bachelor of English. He earned a Master of Liberal Studies from New York University and a Master of Education from Lehman College. He began his career in book publishing. However, he later became a teacher in the New York City Public Schools. William taught students from immigrant families who were learning English as a second language. He was dedicated to helping students succeed. William was a world traveler. He traveled to Tell Aviv, Israel; Accra, Ghana; Montreal, Canada; Moscow, Russia; Mexico City, Mexico; Paris, France; and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. For five years, he taught business English at universities and companies in Stuttgart, Germany. He became fluent in speaking German. William enjoyed Genealogy. His extensive research at libraries and county courthouses documented ancestors over a 225 year period. He presented this family history at reunions. William was loving, kind, and compassionate. He lived a life of service to others.
