Alfred Lee Fisher, Sr.

Alfred Lee Fisher Sr. (Big Al) was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on September 11th 1944, son of the late Ira Will Fisher Sr. and Hazel Margie Fisher. In his final days he spent precious time with The Lord, and God granted him eternal rest on August 24th 2015, at the Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, New Jersey. A former resident of Queens, New York, he lived in North Brunswick, New Jersey for many years. Alfred was always a hard worker and formally worked as a commercial truck driver for most of his career, and more recently worked for First Student in South Brunswick, New Jersey, as a bus driver. Alfred truly loved driving in his professional and personal life. He was the King of road trips and nothing gave him more joy than driving to his hometown in Jackson. If anyone even mentioned a road trip, his response was always “let’s go”. Some of his favorite destinations included Arkansas, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and Atlantic City, NJ. Most people knew that Al was a big fan of westerns, and he could often be found glued to the TV when his favorites were on. Something that few people knew is that Al had a beautiful singing voice, mostly reserved for his wife, who encouraged him to share that gift with others more often, but she could never convince him to join a choir no matter how hard she tried. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Alfred Lee Fisher Jr., sisters Annie Beverly Stuckey and Delois Dadzie. He is survived by his wife Sharon Fisher. Five children, daughters; Sondra L. Fisher, Margie Fisher, Channa George (Kurt), Cherilyn Duckworth, and son; Amar L. Fisher. Four siblings, brothers; Ira Fisher Jr. (Andreta), Eddie Lee Fisher Sr. (Milinda), Jerry C. Fisher, and sister; Evelyn C. Fisher-Hammonds-Taylor (Fred). Eight grandchildren, Kevin L. Fisher, Michael Fisher, Danielle I. Morton, Demecca Fisher, Trinity Holley, Jaron A. Thomas, Keyani R. George and Josiah C. George. Two great-grandchildren, Jayden K. Fisher and Jahiem L. Fisher. Four aunts Mattie Caston, Bobby Ree Davis, Clotea Fisher, and Juanita Fisher, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
