Annie Ruth Nance

Celebration of Life of Annie Ruth Nance Annie Ruth Nance, daughter of the late James Corrie and Alice Mae Royal was born November 27,1928 in Sylvania, Ga. She peacefully departed this life on Monday April 12, 2021 at home with her family. At an early age, Annie was baptized at the Palen United Methodist Church in Savannah, Ga. She was a child that really loved the Lord. Annie was educated in the Savannah Public School System. In 1948 Annie Ruth met and married Prince Nance Jr. and they relocated to Trenton, New Jersey. Upon relocating to Trenton, they were blessed to have six wonderful children. Three sons Marty, Mark and Michael, and three daughters Mauri Lynn, Cheryl, and Theda. Annie worked for Carter Wallace until retiring in 1991. While in Trenton, she joined the St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church in Ewing, NJ. Annie loved singing and praising the Lord. She was a faithful member of the Senior Choir and other ministries of the church. Annie was a very family-oriented person. All who knew her found her to be a loving and caring person, a loyal friend, always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed cooking, singing, and talking about the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince Nance Jr, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Velma (Warstein) Ziegler and Mary (Willie) Perry and one sister- in-law Bessie (Hilbert “Buddy”) Lyman, and one brother-in-law Robert Scarborough. Annie’s memories will be cherished and remembered by her loving and devoted children, Marty (LaVerne) Nance of Decatur, GA; Mauri Lynn (Gilford) Kimbrough of Willingboro, NJ; Mark (Kimberley) Nance of Lawrenceville, NJ; Cheryl Nance (Bruce Faison) Newton, NJ; Michael Nance of Seattle, WA; Theda (John) Jordan of Croydon, PA; and adopted son Reginald Wright of Swainsboro, GA.; also raised Edward Bradham, Odenton, MD; one sister Evelyn Scarborough of San Antonio, TX.
