John McNear

John McNear, son of the late Watt and Molly McNear went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2021. Born in Swainsboro, GA on February 11, 1935, John left the South and migrated North to embark on new beginnings. He was a resident of Ewing Township for more than 50 years. John was educated in the Georgia school systems. John grew up in a large family, as one of eight children where his parents instilled an unwavering love of God and family. John accepted Christ at an early age at the Mount Mariah AME Church in Swainsboro, GA. For over 60 years, John served at the Friendship Baptist Church in Trenton. In 2019, John became a member of the Galilee Baptist Church in Trenton. John enjoyed the preached Word and enjoyed visiting local churches for services to include Macedonia Baptist Church’s Hour of Power Noon Day services and Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. John was employed by Cartex Molding Corporation for over 30 years. He retired from Kern Foam in South Plainfield, NJ in 1997 after 10 years of service. For 53 years, John was married to his loving and devoted wife, Eleanor Harrison McNear. From this union, they had two children, Kim and John Kraig. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. There was always a grandchild somewhere near him. He looked forward to having coffee and spending time with his friends. Additionally, John enjoyed going for his daily walks and manicuring his lawn which he considered to be one of his pride and joys. His neighbors were a big part of his life as well. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his 6 sisters Amy McNear, Alice Dixon, Lena Blackmon, Dora Mae Wells, Lodis Mae Shedrick , and Juanita Burnette and his only brother Robert (RJ) McNear; grandson Terry McNear; sister in law Alma McNear; brother in laws Riley Wells and George Harrison. John leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 53 years Eleanor Harrison McNear of Ewing, NJ; children Joyann Dale (Joseph) of Levittown, PA; Jacqueline McNear of Philadelphia, PA; Robert McNear of Levittown, PA; Charles (Gail) McNear of Levittown, PA; Kim McNear of Lawrenceville, NJ and John Kraig McNear (Tina) of Willingboro, NJ.; sister in law Cynthia Dowling (Daniel) of Ewing NJ; brother in law Frank Harrison Jr. (Liza) of Longs SC; 13 loving grandchildren to include Markies, Tyreek, Damaris, Jordan, Kayla, Victoria, Keyera, Candace, Tommy, LaKesha, Jovita, Chanta and Jolisa; 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; 3 godchildren Anita Watkins Genwright, Denise Watkins Smith and Sherry Watkins as well as a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and special friends Nehemiah Lynch, Curtis Johnson, Katherine Stokes and Chrystene Watkins.
