Johnnie Lee Reddon

Johnnie Lee Reddon was born on July 5, 1947 the 6th child to the late Gertrude and Joseph Reddon, Jr., in Hope Mill, North Carolina. Johnnie Lee moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1964 where he was educated in the New York City Public School System. He was 1st employed at Jomar Metal Plating Company for 30 years. Then he was employed at G & B Carting Group a private sanitation company where he retired. John couldn’t sit still and a year later he started driving for Smart Pick Busing Company and fully retired in 2017. His life was filled with so much loved he was loved by all and admired. He especially loved visiting his family in Trenton New Jersey & North Carolina. He was a big supporter to his family. He loved to barbecue, fish, attend family gatherings and football, he was a true NY Giants fan. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend. On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, he departed this life at Franklin Hospital Medical Center after a short illness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Gregory Graham, one brother Willie Albert Reddon, three sisters Addie Mae, Julia Mae Reddon, (Big John-his fishing partner), Queen Ester Lee and his longtime friend he called a brother, Jerry Dayson. He leaves to mourn, his companion of 24 years Barbara and son Frankie Parker, one daughter Donya Dixon, daughter-in-law Nichole Simmons-Graham, five grandchildren Gregory(Charlene) and Terrell Oglesby (Latoria), Sikina Black (Robert), Elijah Dixon, Asmahauni Graham, eight great-grand children, Amiyah, Amirah, Gregory, Kerionna, Ayanna Oglesby, Hunter, Braxton and Jada Black, one sister Lillie Mae (Sista) Davis, one brother, Minister Roscoe Reddon, Queens, New York, one brother-in-law Joe (Pepsi) Lee, a longtime friend he called a sister Carolyn Dayson. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces & nephews, other relatives and friends. He was a loving companion and father that cherished his family. He was known for his generous spirit, sense of humor and open heart to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed for his quiet spirit, charming smile, infectious laugh and loving heart.
