Malinda Elizabeth Ives

Malinda Ives was born April 5, 1958 to Vernon and Willie Mae Ives. She was the youngest of five children and was cherished by her parents and her older siblings. Affectionately known as Buddy and Linsky, our beloved matriarch made her heavenly transition on April 25, 2025, just a few weeks after her 67th birthday. Malinda grew up in Monroe Twp., NJ and was a student in the Monroe Twp. and Hightstown school systems. She also furthered her education at Mercer County Community College. Malinda worked at Carter Wallace in Cranbury, NJ for many years and she often shared very fond memories of this workplace. She gained many friends at Carter Wallace and they shared countless laughs during their time there. Malinda also worked at Matell in Freehold, NJ and Utrecht in Cranbury, NJ. Malinda was a devoted member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Monroe Twp., NJ for many years and recently became a member of Fishers of Men Family Church in East Windsor, NJ. Malinda loved God, church, and her church family. Malinda was a smart, funny, spunky, woman who was truly one of a kind. And oh my goodness could she cook! She hosted community fish fries in the summers and people flocked to grab a meal. Malinda loved her three daughters fiercely and couldn’t get enough of her grandchildren. She is irreplaceable and will be so very much missed. Malinda was predeceased by her mother Willie Mae/Sue Will Ives, her father Vernon/Man Ives, her four siblings Richard Ives, JoAn Hunter, Freddie T. Ives, and James “Eddie” Ives, and also by her angel baby, Angel. Malinda leaves behind three daughters to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: Aysha Ives-Clark (Hakeem) of Burlington, NJ, Alyce Wilburn (Corey) of Beverly, NJ and Aquasya Johnson of Beverly, NJ, as well as two bonus daughters Crystal Hickmond of Trenton, NJ and Jamie Hickmond of Jersey City, NJ. Malinda also leaves behind her five beloved grandchildren: Kwinten, Makayla, Cheyenne, Cassidy, and Ariah. Listen! She loved those kids and they loved her! Malinda also leaves behind her “Partner in crime” and nephew Richard Ivery of Burlington, NJ, two sisters-in-laws Carrie “Ann” Ives of Jamesburg, NJ, and Faye Parrish of Hightstown, NJ, her "favorite and only" niece Erica Ives, special cousins Robin Hickmond and Shirley Smalls, special friends/sisters Denise Daniels and Cynthia Wilburn, her fiancé Jabozz Spence of Jamesburg, NJ and a host of incredible nephews, nieces cousins, other relatives and friends. Malinda is gone but will never, ever be forgotten. She knew how to fill up a room with joy and laughter and that is how she will always be remembered.
