Theodore Roosevelt Savage Jr.

Theodore Roosevelt Savage, Jr., was born on February 11, 1961, in New Brunswick, NJ, the son of Theodore R. and Della P. Savage. He departed this life on July 30, 2015. Theodore, affectionately known as "Teddy" or "Ted", was passionate about music. Throughout his life he played numerous instruments: trumpet, tuba, guitar, and electric bass. He loved to play and sing and lit up the room when he did. Whenever he played, the party was always started right. Ted was an avid fisherman; he loved being out on the water. Sometimes he would make a delicious dish, as cooking was one of his many talents. Another passion was reading. Teddy was an avid reader; growing up, Ted was known to read a book a day. He was comfortable discussing classics, fiction, non-fiction and poetry, with scholars and the everyman. Ted also loved playing with his beloved dog, Josie, talking to friends, barbeques, fireworks and spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren. Ted graduated from Hightstown High School and continued taking courses for both job advancement and personal enrichment. Ted was employed by the State of NJ in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) as a programmer, until disability forced him to take early retirement. Ted leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Theodore R. and Della P. Savage of Ahoskie, N.C.; his daughter, April E. of Levittown, PA; his son, Theodore R., III, of Philadelphia, PA; three grandsons, Jaden and Jordon Savage, and Kaleb Mapp-Noel all of Levittown, PA; two brothers, Ronald (Lois) of Boston, MA, and William R (Rosie) of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Rhonda Williams (Richard) of Ewing, NJ and longtime friend and companion, Donna Wagner of Hamilton, NJ, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. “One of the most ‘live and let live’ people I have known in my life. Always There for good talks, good food and great fun. I will never stop hearing his “Well you know, the thing about that is”. Anyone that had the privilege of knowing Ted has suffered a great loss. We are so close because of our Aunt Alice, the “Grand Poobah”, for this we are eternally grateful. Although he is at rest with other loved ones. We will at some time be reunited in the place of peace. Our beloved ‘Teddy Bear’ will be greatly missed, but never, ever forgotten.” Cousin Pat
