Troy Nolan

Troy Jerome Nolan transitioned to eternal life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in Opelika, AL at the East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, July 13, 1963 to the late Ruben Jerome & Lois Middleton-Nolan in New Brunswick, NJ, and raised by the late Bennie Lee and Mary Carter of New Brunswick, NJ. Troy attended New Brunswick Public Schools and he continued his education in basic and intermediate literacy programs, secondary school equivalency programs and tertiary education in Bordentown, NJ where he obtained his GED. He was later employed with Marlton ShopRite Supermarket as a grocery clerk. On August 21, 1983 was one of the proudest days of his life. He became a father to a beautiful son, Muqadin B. Nolan. His son filled his heart with so much joy. When his son announced he was getting married, Troy vowed that under no circumstances would he miss his son’s wedding and he didn’t. He was there front and center. Troy met and married Evangelist Cynthia A. Williams of Newark, NJ. As time passed he gave his life to Christ and became a born again Christian loving GOD more each passing day. He became an Ordained Deacon. He had a strong passion for music and loved to sing and harmonize with others. One of his favorite songs was Christian Automobile by the Dixie Hummingbirds. He enjoyed watching western movies and mystery shows like Perry Mason and loved popcorn, steak, and blue crabs. He had a dedicated love for his family and a great heart. He was loved by everyone and made friends wherever he went. Troy met his fiance Treva in 1989 and life brought them back together in 2014. She was exactly what he needed; a strong woman of God. They both grew stronger and closer to God. They resided in Bridgeton, NJ before deciding to start a new life together in Opelika, Alabama. They were excited because during the pandemic Troy and Treva had become virtual members of The Bridge Church of Alabama. He was overjoyed, this move would bring him closer to his oldest brother Pastor Terrance and his wife First Lady Latrilla Nolan. The move was the beginning of them serving in ministry together. Troy was preceded in death by: His parents; Ruben Jerome Nolan and Lois Middleton-Nolan, Bennie Lee and Mary Carter, paternal grandmother; Evangelist Hattie Mae Ross, brother; Lorenzo (Pluckie) Parson, and sister; Angela Nolan. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: one son; Muqadin B. (Dr. Marquita) Nolan of Durham, NC, two brothers; Pastor Terrance (Latrilla) Nolan of Opelika, AL and Ruben Ratliff of Piscataway, NJ and two sisters: Pamela L. Nolan of Greensboro, NC and Teri (Zack) Doney of Ewing Township, NJ and his loving fiance’ Treva Smith and her five daughters and one son, a childhood best friend; Thomas (Knowledge) Carter and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his church family of The Bridge Church of Alabama. May he continue to be a guardian angel for us all.
